About Love Amongst Ruin
After Steve Hewitt’s departure from Placebo in 2007 and putting in over ten years with the band, Hewitt collaborated with former Lamb bassist Jon Thorne in his home studio to create early versions of material that would eventually appear on Love Amongst Ruin’s 2010 self-titled debut album. Chuff Media describes Love Amongst Ruin as “a multi-faceted rock band that promises the crunch of a stone age queen (Queens of the Stone Age), the crossover appeal of a parkful of linkins (Linkin Park) and the melodicism of the hardiest fighter of foos (Foo Fighters).” Other influences in the band’s sound include New Order, Depeche Mode, Can, Kasabian, The Cure, and Metallica.
