A Perfect Circle: By and Down

a perfect circle image A Perfect Circle: By and Down

As much as this site is seeming to become an A Perfect Circle fan blog… it’s not. I promise.

That being said, the band just started their 6 week tour, which could unofficially be called their eMOTIVE tour, as the majority of the setlist revolves around the mostly covers album, but still revisits gems from Mer de Noms (“The Hollow”) and Thirteenth Step (“Weak and Powerless”).

With the first show in Portland, the band surprised fans with a new song called “By and Down”.  Though the quality of the recordings I’ve found on YouTube are less than stellar, I’ve found that this new song contain all of the elements that make A Perfect Circle such a great band: melodic guitars, ethereal atmosphere, and flowing vocals. The lyrics to the song are somewhat of a mystery to me at this point, as quality has compromised diction, but as soon as I find a better version and some lyrics, you’ll know you can find them here.

I now bring to you… the best version of “By and Down” I could find…

Let me know what you think. Comments are always appreciated.

These are the lyrics that I came up with.  I could be way off but hopefully they’ll give people a starting point.

Moving in and out of the shadows
    There’s no easier mission
Holding on to how I picture you

    Showing all your missing pieces
Till the tide betrays you and your empty allocution

Searching your eyes for a hint or a trace of your memories
Searching your eyes for the savior that I know you to be

Searching your eyes for a hint or a trace of it
    Searching your eyes for humility
Searching your eyes for a hint or a trace of it
    Searching… searching…

    Showing all your missing pieces
Till the light betrays you and your empty allocution
So the piper by and down the river
Target crippled that need to carry the weight of adoration

So the piper found on down the river
SO that long as crippled need the weight of adoration
Moving in and out of the shadows
    There is no easier mission
Holding on to how I picture you

A Perfect Circle – By and
    Down

    Moving
in and out of the shadows.
    It’s
    no easier mission,
    Holding
    onto how I picture you.

    Showing
    all the missing pieces,
    Till
the tide betrays you and your empty allocution.

    Searching
your eyes for a hint or a trace of humility.
    searching
your eyes for the savior that I know you to be.
    Searching
your eyes for a hint or a trace of it.
    searching
    your eyes for humility.
    searching
your eyes for a hint or a trace,
    I’m
    still searching, searching.

    Showing
    all the missing pieces,
    Till
the light betrays you and your empty allocution.

    Saw
the Piper by and down the river.
    Targets
crippled at the knee by pounding waves of adoration.
    Saw
the piper flowed on down the river.
    Floating
    carcass crippled me,
    The
    weight of adoration.

    Moving
in and out of the shadows.
    It’s
    no easy mission,
    Holding
on to how I pictured you.
